PATNA: The main opposition BJP in Bihar is holding statewide dharnas seeking dismissal of excise minister Abdul Jalil Mastan. He is minister from the Congress.
The dharnas are being held at all the district headquarters across the state. The BJP has announced not to let the House function until Mastan is dismissed for his ‘fault’.
“Anything less than his dismissal is not acceptable to us. Jis Jalil ne Bihar ko jalil kiya uski barkhastagi ke niche kuchh bhi manzoor nahin,” declared the BJP leaders today.
The BJP has been angrily protesting and has not allowed the House function in the past three days objecting to the minister’s conduct in public.
The BJP has gone on the warpath after the video clip of minister’s alleged inflammatory speech went viral in the media.
In the video, the minister is heard using uncharitable words against the PM and then asking the crowd gathered at his party rally to hit his photograph with shoes. Subsequently, the crowd is seen hitting the photograph of the PM placed on a chair on the dais with shoes.
The incident took place on February 22 during a Congress rally held in Purnia district to protest centre’s demonestisation drive.
