According to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan, a youth was carrying beef packed in a bag on his bike when the local villagers caught him and thrashed badly.

Luckily, the police arrived on the spot soon and rescued the youth. He was later arrested by the police.

“The youth is being interrogated,” a local police official  Jagniwas Singh was quoted as saying in the paper.

The fresh incident comes barely four days after three persons were beaten up by a frenzied mob in neighbouring Bhojpur district on Thursday for allegedly carrying beef on a truck.
