PATNA: The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in another blow to ruling RJD chief Lalu Prasad family today cancelled the petrol pump licence of Bihar health minister Tej Paratp Yadav following allegations that he had acquired the land plot for the same “illegally”.
Tej Paratp is the elder son of Prasad and brother of deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
The action comes on the complaint made by the senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi who alleged the minister was not the real owner of the land on the Anisabad bypass road where the petrol pump is located.
Last month, the BPCL had served a notice on the minister seeking his reply on the allegations.
“How Tej Pratap was alloted Petrol pump in 2011 during UPA when he owned no land & neither leased land in his name?” tweeted Modi today.
“According to media, allotment of Petrol pump to Tej Pratap has been cancelled by BPCL becose land was fraudulently shown (sic),” Modi added.
The RJD chief is already in the thick of controversy for acquiring benami land properties through front companies leading to IT raids on his properties in Delhi and nearby.
