PATNA: Top RJD leadership today strongly reprimanded party legislator Bhai Birendra a day after he called chief minister Nitish Kumar a “cheater”.
“Nitish Kumar is the leader of the grand alliance and we have no grievances from him. The alliance is not going to be split…it is as strong as the Himalaya,” Birendra said.
Barely a day earlier, he had accused the chief minister of betraying everyone helping him in distress.

“Koi aisa saga nahin, Nitish ne jise thaga nahin (Nitish Kumar has spared none),”he had alleged.
The change in tune followed after the JD-U leadership strongly objected to his statement against the chief minister and sought his expulsion from the party.

“Mere clarifications will not be enough. We want his expulsion from the party to restore normalcy of relations in the grand alliance,” JD-U spokesperson Sanjay Singh sought early in the morning.
Soon after the objection raised by the JD-U, the RJD chief Lalu Prasad called him at his residence on Monday evening and gave him a severe dressing down for making irresponsible statements against the chief minister.
The RJD Prasad also asked all his leaders not to make any statements against his alliance partners before consulting him, media reports have said.
