They are protesting the presence of Pakistan artists in the film. The film features Pak actor Fuwad Khan.

As the attack on the Uri Army camp by Pakistan-based terrorists whipped up a wave of anti-Pak sentiment across the country, the  Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) earlier decided  to stall the release of ‘ADHM’ in single screens across Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat on the ground that  Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is in the film.

Earlier Raj Thackeray-led MNS also opposed its screening but withdrew its protests later after the Producers’ Guild agreed to contribute a portion of film revenue to the army welfare fund and pay tribute to the Uri martyrs before start of the film.
