New Delhi: At least 32 passengers were killed and over 100 wounded after nine bogies of Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Express derailed in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh late last night, media reports said on Sunday.
The incident took place while many passengers were asleep and several were still preparing to go to sleep.

According to reports, several coaches and the engine of the train derailed close to the Kuneru station when it was on its way towards Odisha’s Bhubaneswar city from Jagdalpur.
Two sleeper coaches- S7 and S8- have been badly affected due to the deadly mishap.
Railway’s relief teams rushed to the spot and rescue operation commenced after incident occurred.
“Total 4 accident relief vans rushed from different places, rescue and relief operations underway. Priority is treatment, shifting of injured passengers to nearest hospital,” the East Coast Railways tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives in the train mishap.
“My thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones due to the derailment of Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Express. The tragedy is saddening,” PM Modi said.
“I pray for a speedy recovery of all those injured due to the train accident,” he said.
He said the Railway Ministry is monitoring situation.
“The Railway Ministry is monitoring the situation very closely and is working to ensure quick rescue and relief operations,” the Prime Minister said.
