PATNA: As many as 253 eunuchs will be appearing at the matriculation and Class 12 examinations this year in Bihar, indicating for a new social revolution.
According to a report of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), eight eunuchs will be taking the matriculation exam while the remaining 245 will appear at the Class 12 exam.
The districts from where the eunuchs registered themselves for examination include Jamui, Madhubani, Gaya, Auranagbad, Siwan Saran, Kaimur, Vaishali, Banka and Patna.
The number of eunuchs sitting in examination could be traced after the authorities for the first time made provision for Third Gender column in the online application form.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishore said the department would provide special facility to the transgender people during the examinations this time.
